Music can make or break a film, and the ultimate in film soundtracks is using an original custom symphonic score.  As more and more films are being made directors and producers are searching for ways to distinguish their work from the amateur masses that utilize synthesized instruments or even worse the used-to-death royalty-free loops.  As a career professional classical musician AND film-maker I have the experience and resources to advise and coordinate custom film scoring and recording with a deep pool of professional composers, musicians, and recording technicians.  Rise above the ordinary and make your film great with original music coordinated by THEDIEK!

PRO:

For the professional production seeking the depth and power of an original symphonic soundtrack I can help with services ranging from composing, arranging, conducting, performing, personnel, venue, recording, mastering, etc. from a versatile network of artists developed over decades.  Every project is different, so contact me for more information on how to sculpt the perfect musical color for your production (this is professional service with professional artists; please no freebie requests!  Original film scores require a lot of time, talent and a good deal of money).

MID LEVEL:

Don't have the big budget for a symphonic score for your film?  Solo instruments and/or smaller chamber ensemble of professional musicians performing original compositions is also a great option I can assist with.  String quartets or other small ensembles augmented with solo instruments can be an effective emotional tool for cinema storytelling.  Yet another choice is to use a jazz ensemble which are under-utilized in film and highly adaptable.

INDIE:

On an indie shoe-string budget but want real music?  I've been there...  Student musicians who are honing their skill set can benefit from the experience of their first studio recording sessions under the clock with new charts.  It is still work and they need to be paid, but everyone involved gets to learn about the process and create a beautiful product at a fraction of the cost of a professional grade soundtrack.  I recommend utilizing one of my preferred professional composer/arrangers to make a custom score for your finished film (picture-lock) and recording using a talented paid student ensemble.
